About Michael Horner

Born and raised on the East Coast, a visit to Santa Fe during his art studies changed the course of Michael’s life, and the city has been pulling him back ever since. The lure wasn’t by chance: his great aunt, a gifted mid-century landscape painter, lived and worked in Northern New Mexico, and her oil paintings still hang on the walls of his home today. Santa Fe has always been in the family.

With a degree in art education and a career in fashion design, Michael brings a trained eye for craftsmanship, composition, and storytelling to every property he represents. Before entering real estate, he owned and operated The Neapolitan, a beloved Santa Fe food business. The experience rooted him in the local community and introduced him to a wide network of fellow business owners, makers, and neighbors. He still loves cooking and developing recipes in his spare time, and that same creative, detail-driven sensibility shapes how he approaches listings, marketing, and client relationships.

Michael launched his real estate career at The Agency Santa Fe, where he has led high-level marketing initiatives and gained a deep understanding of how luxury properties are positioned, presented, and sold in this market. He also knows the client side firsthand: he has personally bought and sold his own home in Santa Fe, navigating the particular quirks and rhythms of this market as a buyer and seller before ever representing one. 

Michael acts as your strategic partner, not just a facilitator. He has spent years building a reputation for integrity and perserverance—qualities that will help protect your interests and ensure your transaction is as seamless as possible.

Beyond his day-to-day work, Michael volunteers his time and expertise as a leader on the Santa Fe Association of REALTORS® (SFAR) Technology Committee, helping shape the tools and standards that serve the broader brokerage community.

Outside of work, Michael is a devoted supporter of his husband, an actor deeply involved in Santa Fe's vibrant performing arts scene. The two share their home with Eliza, a Brooklyn rescue dog who has happily traded city sidewalks for high desert sunshine.
